Edward Russell
Ph.D. Candidate
2026 Biohaven Fellow
Edward earned his Bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut in 2023. At UConn, he worked in the Milligan-McClellan Lab, studying how microbe-microbe interactions in Alaskan threespine stickleback guts can affect their microplastic-degrading capacity. Now pursuing a PhD, Edward joined the Hanlon Lab in the spring of 2024, where his research focuses studying the trajectory of supernumerary B chromosomes as they evolve into essential chromosomes as a part of the genome.
